My grandmother's childhood.

My grandmother Mary was born in 1942 in the Republic Belarus. At that time was the Great Patriotic War. And this area was occupied by germans. She was the fifth child in the family.

I think that my grandmother's childhood was difficult due to the fact that even the bread was not enough. But my grandmother never did complain. When my grandmother turned 5 years old her father came from the war. He went to Berlin and there, in the Reichstag, he signed. And then her life had improved slightly. My grandmother was admitted to the first class in 1950. School years, she remembers with great joy. The most important and favorite memories – are the teachers. She remembers with great love for them. Times were hard, was not enough clothing, shoes, food, and their teachers are always fed. And she had to share clothes and shoes with her younger sisters. Nevertheless, my grandmother studied only in "excellent" and was very active girl. In childhood grandmother had often malnourished. She and her friends used to gather spikelets rye, tied them into bundles and baked at the bonfire. They used to gather in spring on potato fields rotten potatoes. Most were without shoes, because they were stuck in the mud. But only for that rotten baked potatoes . They were so delicious that even now my grandmother would not refuse them. I think that it's not that they were tasty, but because it is the smell of my grandmother's childhood. In her spare time from school my grandmother loved reading the books. Although there was no electricity grandmother read by kerosene lamp. The parents she was not allowed to linger for a long time because of the cost of kerosene. But my grandmother had a very expensive gift from her father, who brought back from the war, from Germany - a flashlight. Then she used to climb on the Russian stove, and there continued to read.

Ilive in the 21 century . And now my life is drastically different from the life of my grandmother. I looked at my grandmother - funny, always upbeat, happy, and I think, and could I overcome these difficulties that befell my grandmother? I do not know ...
